- A powerful phenomenon known as The Scream killed most psychics in the universe and set back a very advanced technological universe to one of the stone ages. Pretech is what the technology was called that was all but wiped out by the scream, although if you are lucky, you may find Pretech remnants out in space such as powerful AI. Post-tech describes all technology that has been developed after The Scream and is usually quite rudimentary compared to that of Pre-tech. Psitech came about from a complex melding of psycho-fabricated pretech components and psionically-active materials.
